Scan times were about 40 seconds at 1,500 by 1,200 pixels (for 150 ppi at 8 by 10 inches), and 2:20 at 7,200 by 5,800 pixels (for 150 ppi at 38 by 48 inches). This can get tiresome compared with most film scanners, but it's still easier than positioning slides in a typical flatbed scanner. Instead, you have to position it by hand for each image. One cut corner that helps keep the price down is that there is no mechanism to move the carrier through the scanner automatically. To scan, you mount up to four slides (or a strip of film) in a carrier and slide the carrier into a slot on the scanner's side.
